It is important to note that the transfer of knowledge does not only affect <strong>current members of the organization, but also future ones<\/strong>. Stories, experiences, rules, and norms are the wealth that accumulates, spreads, and is passed on, contributing to what we can call \u201c<strong>organizational memory<\/strong>\u201d. .<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00a0<\/h2>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h2 id=\"\u03b7-\u03c4\u03b5\u03c7\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae-\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5-role-play\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">An Example of a Learning Organization<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 50px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The bottom-up approach to communication and feedback at General Electric<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>GE CEO Jack Welch (1935\u20132020) is one of the most well-known CEOs of all time. What innovations did he introduce in Organizational Learning?<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>Boundaryless organization:<\/strong> He aimed to break down silos so that everyone could learn from everyone else. He established structured meetings that brought people together across levels, departments, and geography to solve problems and make real-time decisions. This became known as GE\u2019s famous <a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2015\/09\/jack-welchs-approach-to-breaking-down-silos-still-works\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Work-out Process<\/a>. Consider this: at a time far less technologically advanced than today, these practices were extremely ambitious, if not radical.<\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Reverse Mentoring:<\/strong> Employees from lower hierarchical levels acted as mentors to senior executives in areas where they had more expertise. This process re-energized experienced leaders, engaged younger employees, and improved intergenerational workplace relationships.
